Additional Information

Did you know Pebble Hill Plantation is home to one of the Southeast's rarest birds - the red-cockaded woodpecker? Bring your entire family and join Joe Burnam, Wildlife Biologist with the Wildlife Conservation Section of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, for a unique and informative field trip in Pebble Hill's longleaf pine woods. Participants will learn about the fascinating research techniques of banding the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, hopefully, get to see some adult birds, and maybe even see recently hatched ones through a camera lens.
