In recognition of Women’s History Month, Pebble Hill Plantation is pleased to announce the upcoming Learning Center program, “Women in History: The Pebble Hill Connection,” on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pebble Hill Learning Center. The program is being presented by Lori Curtis, Curator, Pebble Hill Plantation. This program is free to the public.
Each year, The National Women’s History Alliance designates an annual theme for Women’s History Month. The 2022 theme is “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” This theme is “both a tribute to the ceaseless work of caregivers and frontline workers during this ongoing pandemic and also a recognition of the thousands of ways that women of all cultures have provided both healing and hope throughout history.”
“Women in History: The Pebble Hill Connection” will highlight the many prominent women who passed through the doors of Pebble Hill as family, friend, or invited guest of Kate Hanna Ireland Harvey and Elisabeth “Pansy” Ireland Poe. In keeping with this year’s theme, a concentrated portion of the program will highlight the women who contributed to the health and social welfare of the underserved in the first half of the 20th century.
